Schlapp track sesh

With lots of riders doing well at the track leagues, Ellen back from Aussie, Jon, Runner Boy and Ski back from France and me off to ireland for the weekend, it's time for a klub track sesh.

Our other Athens medallists Paul & Blinki are back in training and looking to get ready for Bejing. Paul is even riding his bike - a bit - see above

No doubt some others of you in the klub might like to get on the tandems this year; there is the little matter of the womens 5km that needs breaking, the national tandem sprint and, the Schlapp tandem omnium that is likely to be run this year. If you are interested, we do have some tandems waiting to be used...

Toe straps etc

I [Andrea] have 3 pairs of new double toe strps that I would like to get rid of. £5 a pair. Give me a call.

10 Trigons Race

Loads of new Trigons out at the Friday TL and wins and placings as wll. Not bad when you consider 100 riders there and racing. mikey seems to be on a roll at the moment as does Mr Wilman and young Dan Wheelan.

McKeown? Where is he?

If you, like myself have been wondering what Mr P Mckeown is up to these days, I can tell you, from a secret source, that he is spending much of his time training up his Daughter Charlotte ready for the 2016 Olympics. While he is not slumping exhausted in front of the TV with a can of Iron Brew in his hand and wondering if he is ever going to get that Svelte look back again that is.

Maruyama awarded- award!

News from one of our riders in Japan; Maruyama has been awarded 'Encouragement Award' by his home town for 2005-2006 - as you can see on the certificate :-)

TL wins - again

With 8 riders t the friday night TL this week, the Schlappswere there in force and came away with several wins and places.
it's all too complicated for me to remember all the wins but Mr Wilman got at least one as did Mikey.
Cool.

Hunter & Kappes win again

Aussie tandemists are taking a right battering from GB riders at the Open Aussie Nationals. Ellen and AntJam won their respective sprint events yesterday, Ellen steering Aileen and AntJam stoking Barney. Brilliant riding

More wins and placings on the ACT tl with Paul's new TRIGON having a fast day out. "I could have won the devil" Paul tells me. Yeah right! HAve I heard that before??
Jessica Anderson is flyinbg too with greeat rides on her Trigon while new rider Dan Wheelan was getting his legs in order then dishing out the pain :-)

Wins in Aus

News has just reached me that both Ellen Hunter and Mr A Kappes have had wins on their respective tandems in Aus recently. Mr Kappes put all his winnings into a few kilos of Aussie Beerenberg Strawberry Jam. Nice. Aussie Track champs soon ....!
