Record Number of Entries for World Masters!

Apparently, 423 enrties have been received for this year's championships in Sydney. This surpasses last year's record of 420 and bodes well for the championship's 3 year stay in Australia.
The entry list should be available sometime next week.

World Masters - Australia

If you are thinking of riding at the championships in Sydney and haven't put you entry in yet then you had better be quick. Entries close today (Monday 24 September).
According to the organizer's website, they are looking for more entries in the over 60s and all women's classes.

National Masters - Scunthorpe - 21-23 September

Amazingly, the weather wasn't too bad over the weekend and only Friday's activities had to be curtailed a bit early because of rain. An early start on Saturday got things back on track.
Pretty successful weekend for Yasumitsu riders and some even managed to win the odd medal or two! By my reckoning, we came away with 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Next year's event is going to be indoors at Newport, so that should be a lot drier and warmer!

Higgsy Takes bronze

National Masters and Chris Higgs takes bronze in a hard fought points race.
Heard from Ski that his back is 'b***' [awfully bad] but Simon and Robbo and of course Jo are riding well.

Higgsy wins it

No doubt the Velodrome receptionist will be celebrating - again.
As word has reached me in the far recesses of out dear land that Chris Higgs is now the Manchester District BAR champuon for 2007. I think I happen to have also met the Stornoway BAR champ too - as he was staggering up the road at 10 am on Monday with a half bottle of what I think was whisky.
Anyway, excellent riding by Champ Chris.

Edit; Jeanette and Chris won the team BAR too. :-)

Ever Felt The Fool ?

Just finished a CDNW road race at Bickerstaff thinking top gears had been a bit noisy and needed a bit of TLC - looked down and realised I'd been riding on the inner chainring all race !
Good leg speed workout but no wonder heart rate was a bit higher than normal for the race pace. Might be better if I stick to fixed.

KIT ORDER FORM!!

Right...Once again, I'ts kit order time!
So heres the form, if you could print it off, fill it in, and get it posted off to us ASAP (Within the next week if poss) that would be great!
We will be at the track on Sunday for the Schlapper session (2-5pm) so you can bring it then, or ask any quesions regarding kit.
Could all team pursuiters also bring their tri-bars and any other aero gear they wish to practice with!

Welsh Nats

Gwyn and myself made the long journey back in time to Newport at the weekend for the Welsh track nationals. Lots of sprinter type stuff with kilos, team sprints, keirins and, believe it or not, sprints! Gwyn and myself teamed up with Griff, the Welsh Viking, to claim silver in the team sprint, Gwyn was 4th in the keirin, 2nd in the kilo and 4th in the sprint and I picked up the kilo title.

Lovely plastic medals to take home!
